It was simply disabling the plug and play policy - which by doing that would in theory give users the option select extra devices to redirect in an options menu. Shortly after I made this post, another tech and I configured RemoteFX group policy for the virtual desktops. We got scanner and foot pedals to redirect to this client's VMware desktops (our intention is move them off of local esxi hardware to the cloud), so I'm really hoping WVD can do the same. It seems like a mixed bag as to what redirects and what doesn't. Camera (I actually checked this after I saw your reply) If you know any, I'd be happy to hear them.

I'll have to see if there's some powershell commands that can help configure this. In both cases the extra USB peripherals do not redirect.ĭid run through a large handful of powershell commands during initial set up, looking back on them, there was nothing pertaining to USB redirection. The second is not domain joined and is for testing, and I go through RDP to get into it. Is it not supported in this type of environment yet, or is something more that can be configured?Ĭurrently I have two VMs spun up - one is domain joined that you go through the Remote Desktop client to access. Other peripherals I tried to test included a Xbox 360 usb controller. The virtual desktops pick up on all other USB devices without issue including printers, keyboards, and mouses. I RDP into my work laptop when I work from home, and the it picks up the foot pedal and other peripherals fine, and I assumed WVD used the same re-directors. RemoteFX is a common GPO I saw being thrown around, but that is not configured and again, I couldn't find any definitive answer on if it would actually work. Logging on through the Remote Desktop client doesn't pick up on the redirected scanner or foot pedal and I can't seem to find any definitive answer online. I'm having some trouble finding out if this is supported on a WVD environment. The important ones are VEC Infinity Footpedals and scanners. One of the requirements is the ability to use certain USB peripherals devices. Working on setting up a WVD environment for a client.
